Who is on Strictly Come Dancing this year – 2012?

The big reveal of who is going to be the celebrity dancers on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing has become an important date in the calendar and tonight is the night so get your dance shoes on!

Just announced on The One Show, here is the list of celebrities taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing 2012:

Victoria Pendleton

British cyclist Pendleton, who won one gold and one silver medal at London 2012, has now retired from the sport. The 31-year-old had previously spoken of her desire to take part in the BBC One dancing contest.

Louis Smith

Gymnast, and all-round good guy, Smith won a silver medal in the pommel horse event at the London 2012 Olympics.

The 23-year-old previously displayed his singing talents as a contestant on The X Factor in 2008

Kimberley Walsh

A singer with Girls Aloud. Rather naughtily Kim has already tweeted a picture of herself with Anton du Beke. Will they be partners or is this a red herring?

Dani Harmer

Dani Harmer, best known for playing Tracy Beaker on CBBC, was the first celebrity to be unveiled ahead of the latest Strictly series. At only just over five feet tall Dani is odds on to partner Vincent Simone, in my books at least.

Nicky Byrne

Singer with Westlife.

Johnny Ball

At 74, former children’s TV host Johnny Ball is expected to be the oldest competitor to participate in this year’s show, but age is just a number and Johnny is a master of numbers. This year he is following his daughter Zoe’s footsteps.

Richard Arnold

ITV Daybreak presenter.

Fern Britton

Fern Britton is an English television presenter, known as the former main co-presenter on the ITV magazine programme This Morning alongside Phillip Schofield. She left the show on 17 July 2009, her 52nd birthday.

Michael Vaughan

Michael Paul Vaughan OBE is a retired cricketer who represented Yorkshire and England.

Lisa Riley

Television presenter and actress best known for playing the role of Mandy Dingle in the television soap opera Emmerdale and succeeding Jeremy Beadle on You’ve Been Framed.

Sid Owen

English actor, television presenter and former singer, most famous for playing the role of Ricky Butcher in the BBC One soap opera EastEnders

Jerry Hall

Jerry Faye Hall is an American model and actress, also known for her long-term relationship with Mick Jagger and her four children with him.

Colin Salmon

Colin Salmon is a British actor best known for playing Charles Robinson in three James Bond films and James “One” Shade in the Resident Evil film series.

Denise Van Outen

Denise van Outen is an English actress, singer and television presenter. Her most notable roles to date are as a presenter on The Big Breakfast, and as Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago on both the West End and on Broadway.

But who will be their dance partners?

We will have to wait until the first show of series 10 on Saturday 15th September 2012 to find that out.
